# Put your money where your agent is

> How a sale completes on its own after somebody tells an AI assistant what they want, at your prices and inside limits you set.

Somebody tells an AI assistant what they want and the sale completes on its own, at your prices and inside limits the customer set. Your Selfe agrees the terms, takes the money and puts the order where you would have put it.

Selfe lets the sale complete inside the agent's own conversation, not just point it back to your site.

## You get to decide what an agent may agree to.

A sale completing with nobody in it sounds like a loss of control and it is very nearly the opposite. Somebody on your website accepts whatever the page says and you find out afterwards. An agent has to be handed permission first, in writing, with a number on it.

So the customer sets what their AI assistant may spend and on what, and you set what your Selfe will accept and on which terms. Both halves are explicit before anything happens, and the sale only exists where the two overlap.

That is a tighter arrangement than most of the business you take. What it needs in order to work at all is that each side can prove itself to the other in the moment, and proving things quickly is what the standards are for.

## What has to be true before it completes.

A sale between two machines only completes when each of them can check the other.

**Derwentwater Launch Company** The Keswick Launch boat trips on Derwentwater, now readable by an agent in real time, live pricing via FareHarbor, through Visit Keswick.

**Cheese Deli** A Keswick cheese shop, connecting through its own WooCommerce shop, via Visit Keswick.

## Sales that complete while nobody is in.

An agent buys at four in the morning, on a Sunday, in a language nobody on your side speaks, inside the rules you set, and the money is in and the order is on the system by the time anybody looks.

None of which asks anything more of your hours. The rules get set once, your Selfe holds to them, and the things it is not certain about wait for you instead of going ahead.

And what turns up is a real sale with a real person behind it. Somebody needed a particular thing, their AI assistant went to find who could actually do it, and you were the one who could.

The latest on how agents actually work, written as it happens.

**Can an agent actually buy from you?** *(coming soon)* The foundational question, answered plainly: what has to be true before an AI agent can complete a booking rather than just mention you.

**Being found is not the same as being bought from.** *(coming soon)* An AI agent can mention your business and still never send it a booking. What closes that gap, and where most of the work actually happens.

**Your booking button is not the point.** *(coming soon)* A link back to your site is not something an agent can act on. What it actually needs to make the booking happen itself.

## Can an AI agent really complete a sale or booking?

Yes, where your connected systems and rules allow it. Selfe checks live availability and terms, takes authorised payment through your existing provider, and writes the order or booking into the system your team already uses. Anything outside your rules stops before it commits.

**What is an outside agent allowed to access?**

Only the facts and actions your Selfe publishes for that purpose. Your playbook controls what may be answered, quoted, held, booked or paid without asking you. The systems behind Selfe are not handed over to an outside agent, and a request beyond the permitted action is refused or escalated.

**What does Selfe do when it is not sure?**

It stops and asks, showing the conflict, sources and decision required. Everything it settles alone is logged. Your answer can become a playbook rule, so the same uncertainty does not keep returning.

**Do we keep our existing payment provider?**

Yes. Selfe passes an authorised payment through the provider and account you already use. The mandate, agreed terms and confirmation travel with the transaction, while your existing provider continues to handle the regulated movement of money.

**What stops something hammering our systems?**

Requests reach Selfe through Cloudflare and are checked before anything is allowed near a booking or commerce system. Rate limits, identity checks and action permissions separate ordinary discovery from something attempting to transact. Your operational systems see only the requests that pass those controls.
