# Put your money where your mandate is

> How money moves with proof of who authorised it, what it covered, and what happens if it was wrong.

Money moves with proof of who authorised it, what it covered and what happens if it was wrong. A payment that arrives is one nobody has to chase, unpick or argue about afterwards.

Selfe moves the money only once both sides can prove who they are and what they agreed.

## The argument you never end up having.

Money spent on somebody's behalf gets questioned eventually. Rarely on the day. Weeks later, when a card holder queries it, or finance asks what it was for, or something needs refunding and nobody can find the terms it was agreed under.

Every payment carries its own answer to all of that, put together while it is happening and easy, instead of reconstructed afterwards when it is not. The permission it was given, the terms it accepted, the route back out.

Deposits, part payments and refunds work the same way, because the awkward ones are the whole reason this matters. A refund six weeks later, on an order somebody has since changed, is where it holds together or does not.

Your Selfe carries the permission and the record the whole way through, so money that lands is money that stays.

## What every payment carries.

Money spent on somebody's behalf gets questioned eventually, and rarely on the day. Every payment carries its own answer.

**Adventure Patch** An outdoor and adventure gear shop in Keswick, connecting through its Shopify shop, via Visit Keswick.

**Tractors & Cream** A Somerset farm café and glamping stay, connecting through ResNexus, the same adapter already proven end to end, live, on a real partner sandbox.

## Your payment provider starts taking money from agents.

Your Selfe adds the transaction itself. An agent can assemble what it wants, accept your terms and complete a checkout with you directly, with no page to look at and no form to fill in, and the money settles through the provider you already use.

The authority travels with it. What the customer allowed, up to what, and on which terms, so the payment turns up able to answer for itself.

Your provider takes the money the way it always has. What changes is that something with no eyes can hand it over.

## Worth reading next

The latest on how agents actually work, written as it happens.

**Can an agent actually buy from you?** *(coming soon)* The foundational question, answered plainly: what has to be true before an AI agent can complete a booking rather than just mention you.

**Being found is not the same as being bought from.** *(coming soon)* An AI agent can mention your business and still never send it a booking. What closes that gap, and where most of the work actually happens.

**Your booking button is not the point.** *(coming soon)* A link back to your site is not something an agent can act on. What it actually needs to make the booking happen itself.

## Do we keep our existing payment provider?

Yes. Selfe passes an authorised payment through the provider and account you already use. The mandate, agreed terms and confirmation travel with the transaction, while your existing provider continues to handle the regulated movement of money.

**Can an AI agent really complete a sale or booking?**

Yes, where your connected systems and rules allow it. Selfe checks live availability and terms, takes authorised payment through your existing provider, and writes the order or booking into the system your team already uses. Anything outside your rules stops before it commits.

**What is an outside agent allowed to access?**

Only the facts and actions your Selfe publishes for that purpose. Your playbook controls what may be answered, quoted, held, booked or paid without asking you. The systems behind Selfe are not handed over to an outside agent, and a request beyond the permitted action is refused or escalated.

**Is that instead of card fees, or on top?**

On top. Your payment provider still processes the money into your account and charges its normal fee. Selfe never becomes the merchant or holds your proceeds. Its transaction charge is for creating and completing the attributable sale, not for moving the card payment.

**What does Selfe do when it is not sure?**

It stops and asks, showing the conflict, sources and decision required. Everything it settles alone is logged. Your answer can become a playbook rule, so the same uncertainty does not keep returning.
